Urea before heavy rain?

I've got sandy soil, 1-3 inches of rain in the forecast for the next few days, and 3 bags of Urea to apply. I know I need rain for the urea to get into the soil, but is really heavy rain a problem? Does the nitrogen "bind" to the soil or does it leach out with a lot of rain?

It would take more rain than 3" this late in the year to move out of the root zone as deep as the roots are. I would put it on in a heartbeat if rain was coming!

First off, why would you believe a weather forecast?

This time of year, like MO said, get it spread immediately. The sunlight, temps, and weather are all working against you ...
