Truss/Rafter Boom for Tractor Bucket

Hello Guys,

I know this is random question but has anyone built or rented a boom which attaches to a tractor bucket for setting rafters? I need to come up with one in a few weeks. Thoughts?

How high do you need to go?

I am thinking around 10 feet.

Built ours for the skidloader at 10' with a 6' extension that slides out. We set our 50' trusses on 14' sidewalls with it. No problem!

You could make something that clamps to your bucket if you don't want to fab up another mount.

A gin pole off the 3pt hitch is another option that's easily made and would work well.

I think I am going to gin up something to clamp on the bucket since I can't find anything to rent

Thanks guys

might want to check it for weight at the tip, but I lways see metal lightpoles laying aside after wrecks, long and pretty stout, could rig a good rafter setter out of one.

If you have bucket chain hooks, you'll have no trouble getting a stable pole if you string cable back from the top and put a block in the back of the bucket.
