They had them on sale or ones very similar for$99 a week ago at our local store.

I have gotten all my tree stands at Menards the last few years. If you watch for sales there you can get some real good deals.

If they were that price that would have been a hell of a buy. I have never seen this exact stand with the backrest away from the tree for less than this price of $119. Most are around the $175-200 mark. There are others that look close for less money, but no where near as comfortable for the this money.

It looks like this might be the cheaper one. I think you are right that the back rest is different and it looks like the footrest is smaller.

Here are some current deals at Scheels:

Similar Big Game ladder stand for $89, but has different seat and smaller footrest.

Myself I like a double 2/man stand. More room to move around to get comfortable & a place to set stuff.

i love these 21' stands. most ladder stands are 14' to 16' which is just not high enough for bow hunting. i bought 2 last year (although slightly different, very similar) and now have 4. might have to wander over to cabelas and see if they have them in the store for that price.

thanks for posting.

Those are comfortable stands. We bought the wife one. Her only complaint was the seat was too cold. Just need to add padding.

MO, how would you rate these? I've got 2 of the Big Dog stands from Menards that look awfully similar. Bought them for $100 in January, but the Big Game for slightly more seems to be a better rate.

I completely agree with you. But this is not a 21' ladder stand. It's 17' to the shooting rail, which makes it only 14' or 15' to the platform. I think maybe you saw 21 to seat height…but that's in inches from the platform to the seat. I too like them higher.

Easy enough though to fabricate another 4' section.

I love to tuck ladder stands in cedar trees an brush them in. I may have to try one on these. They have to be better than my $60 dollar ladders haha

Having the Backrest away from the tree is really key for all day sits. Plus the large platform and fold up seats are really set up for both bow and gun.

I agree. I look for 5 things in a ladder stand...I like a back-rest away from the tree, a roomy platform, a platform that extends all the way back to the tree, a seat that folds either up or down, and height (minimum 17' to platform).

My brother just bought me a Summit Solo Pro stand that meets all but 1 criteria. It's a very comfortable stand…roomy, nice platform. Yet it's only 14' or 15' feet to the platform. Just too low for my tastes. Time to get the welder out…

I will be getting one if Mo left any at Rogers, does 4ft extra height really matter?

does 4ft extra height really matter?

IMHO, it does. Of course your shot angle, and thus your risk for a singe lung shot, changes the higher you go up. But you can just get away with so much more at 18, 19, 20' that you can not at 14 or 15. 14' is just too low for me. I feel like I am on top of the deer. 20' to platform and I feel like I could do the Harlem Shake and still go undetected.

I like our 21' Upper Cut Stands, but they take 2 guys too move around.http://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/Rivers-Edge-Products-Uppercut-Ladder-Stand/0000000085255?utm_source=googleps&utm_medium=shopping+search&utm_campaign=google+product search&gslfah&gclid=CPitktPyq8ACFZBAMgodEjcAfA

I wanted a 17' ladder stand for the trees that have cover and so one guy can install. Some spots on our farms getting too high does not help. But for most spots I like to be 21' to Eye level at least.

Do not buy the Muddy 21' bow stand. Ladder is too narrow as well as the platform being to small. Plus the backrest is too close to the tree!

Great tip on that River's Edge stand!

I too like the platform that attaches to the tree. Seems every one I've tried that doesn't, the platform has a tendency to wobble when standing. Not only does this make it feel unstable, I think the deer can notice the ladder movement when you stand. Just my personal observations but, I have the best results between 10 and 12 feet up and 20 feet and up. Between 12 and 20 they seem to detect better.

Nope none left at Rogers

Being short, I like to check seat height. I like to sit back, lean against the tree, to keep undetected. Taller seats just do not work.
