These little stubs are out in the plot but don't recognize the leave there is a lot of baby Hawthorne and baby ash trees but this one I don't recognize the leaves are heart-shaped with a tooth Edge all the way around thanks

Looks like some type of aspen to me, maybe cottonwood.
 
Basswood
 
I'm pretty sure S.T. is right on this one. One of my stands is in a basswood tree, so I've spent many hours staring past it's leaves and branches. This sure looks like a basswood to me too.
 
cotton wwod would have had flat leaf stems
 
I have not seen a mature Basswood on this farm.. but after looking at the description of a leaves it fits it perfectly thanks
