Trailcam pics

Now and gun opener is when deer use "security cover" the most from my experience. Get down wind of the tightest cover you have and put the time in. That or the typical rut funnels and pinch points, or water holes. Ideally you'd have a mix of two or three of these in the same location and it should be a hot spot.

Please age this deer. I have two years of known history.

Do you have a pic of another buck in the same location? My first instinct was 4.5, but the only reason I went with older than that was the night pic and the other angle on the other pic later in the thread.

Thanks Bill, that makes a lot of sense. What is your strategy when this happens?

Don't really have a strategy for it. I keep hunting because it's early November and one could show up anywhere anytime. I just don't let low sightings bum me out because it happens every year around Halloween. At least at my place it does every year without fail.

This dude came in and took a nap right in front of my brother in law's stand. Lucky for the deer, my BIL got sent away for work for 3 weeks.

Totally agree, Bill. Time spent in the stand.

It’s my Disney movie in the making. Fawn and squirrel set out on a long adventure to find their mothers! I bet I have 200 pictures of this fawn over the last week. The water tank is it’s favorite spot to chill, All the while asking WTF did everyone else go! 😂

The cameras had been VERY quiet for at least a couple days. Most every good buck I am sure was locked down with a doe and temps have been unseasonably warm. Last night a hot doe must have came through there was a steady stream of buck photos including this one who I had no previous photos of. I have no southeast wind stand, so I am screwed for a couple of days. Plans in the works to remedy that prior to next season!
