Opportunity cost. If you choose right handed you must buy in lots of 5 and there is no savings compared to buying the exact number that you need. If a person is unable to recognize such an obvious and basic concept, I don't think that we should consider their opinion. Or more appropriately, it should be very briefly considered and rejected the overwhelming majority of the time. It's just easier to not let them vote.
It's not what I really believe, but it is fun to dream about at times.
