Yesterday was opening day of IL gun season. Henry got his 1st deer. Dnr at the check station were highly confident it was a 2.5 yr old buck. He's going with that. Chris got his 4th buck in 4 yrs. Dnr booked it at 3.5

Both quick, clean kills. Happy kids. Lots of meat for the freezer.

Pulled a card by the road tonight and had a pic of the smaller buck. I can get on board with it being 2.5 - he had some shoulders on him less than 2 wks ago. Bet he lost 40 lbs, probably didn't take a bite of food since then! Flexing for the camera.
