Teeth Pics... Age???

Jack, I would be very reluctant to overrule an estimate on the hoof using a jawbone. many deer appear to have teeth much younger than their actual age.

That's for sure! It's amazing how a buck can appear to be different ages in a matter of minutes.
Looking at Cat's on-the-hoof pic, he looks no older than 5.5 and more like 4.5.
A 5.5 should have a little more belly on him but he's kind of stretched out so the photo can be deceiving.
I was just looking through some lab-aged, 4.5 year-old jaws I have and none have nearly the wear of Cat's jaw.
