Stock Market is the bottom in?

I read a report before the cease fire that one of their pipelines had been hit, not sure where of what areas it served.

I have no direct info other than there's been posts that it's been repaired. Really fluid situation, no pun intended.

Are you still holding stocks that went down in value or did you sell for less than you paid? You don't lose if you don't sell. Either way it feels like a loss but one of those options has a chance to come back. jmo

Agree, I’m back about even now.
I look for a crazy uptick in the near future that will make everyone giddy again.

Wonder how much oil and marine infrastructure has been damaged. Still need oil to flow to the port to ship it out. I'm sure some ships are on new routes now too.

How many people here have a trust? Why? How does that work? What are the benefits and cons?

ASTS has had a pattern to it for a couple of months now. I buy some when the price is in the mid 80's and sell when it gets close to 100(usually mid 90's). So far it's been working for me. SMCI and SOFI have both been climbing back up where they should be. jmo

Missed on chevron, but thought the time was right for AMD up 32% a week or two. AMD is 98 P/E. Seems a bt nutty. There's crazier one out there more popular too.

Moved the principal back into the slot machine. Dakota gold and anjimoto. Put the gains into more SCHD and a bit n CEF.

GIS is testing free fall lows. I promised to do something if they fell this low. Forgot how I was gonna fund that.

Chevron is gonna have 1 month of war in its Q1 earnings. The estimates for Q1 are flat vs the previous quarter. I’ve got to imagine their earnings should soar for Q2. I’d also like to know what they’re doing for hedging forward while oil prices were north of $100.

We set up a trust on the property we live on, it is 12 acres, has a small woods, nice pond, orchard, a pole barn with an 1800 sq ft loft apartment in it and will soon have a new 2K sq ft house on it.
Our three kids will inherit it one day equally. We don’t want it ever to be a burden to them so we put $200K in a trust that is invested in the S&P 500 to pay the taxes, insurance, utilities and upkeep into perpetuity.
That way the kids can use the property with the grandkids as a weekend get away, a vacation spot, an in between place to live or a permanent residence as they need….whatever they want to use it for hopefully for a long time.
We had a lawyer draw it all up and it should last for quite awhile after we are gone before one of the grandkids or future great grandkids ends up breaking the trust and wants to cash out.

The pros of it are the trustee is a relative that will one day choose their successor, and the family will hopefully enjoy the property for a long time after we are gone.
The cons would be that eventually down the road somehow one of the grandkids will eventually break the trust and sell out.

Took some winnings off the table yesterday to park in some safer haunts. Market choppiness the last few months triggered a bit of prudent caution. Didn't alter our portfolio mix percentages - just went a bit more for divs. Monthly cash flow is good, thank GOD!

I think 1/2 of my stock advice is one here. Bought some GIS too. Diving. CVV is a diver too. Not alot in either, just gonna be a parking spot on my robinhood account for awhile.

Chevron will perk up again Im sure, not putting more chips in, The AI tech stocks look shiny right now..... Debating selling Tesla.

Got alot of small ups, but where is it going to go from here? Play it safe for awhile? Thinking there's some fake good news about the war.

Holding onto Amazon, but it seems it never been that wow of a stock once established, kinda flat for years. Ebay had its time in the sun, still more sun for amazon's turn? Only big AI tech stock makes sense to me, price and practicality. softbank announced physical AI collaborative. Had some already, its up 25%. Sell them, keep them?

Might be a wait for the end of the year to hide the profits, or it turns around.

I found a way to sell a put on GIS today. Sold the May 15th $35 put. Got paid 90 cents for one month.

Not buying more of GIS to get 100 to do that......

I did get to the sum of 101 shares of dakota gold today. No puts on it yet. Reading up more on the subject. Putting my pennies towards 100 of softbank. Thinking it could end up being a 40 dollar stock in a year or so. Was going to try out palanitir, maybe if it dives out. Want something a bit popular but low cost llike 3 grand-ish.

Think I am going to be a short term investor. Few weeks / months to get 20-30% gains. Watched the surf these past few months, found the spots I want to put bait out.......

You still feeling dakota gold. IS 4700 dollar gold considered high right now? Been watching crypto vs gold vs silver. Seems the recent gains gold is #3. Been hitting CEF at 47 not 48.

I still like it. I’m still buying. Bought more this week. I found a way to buy it in my 401k, so I’ve been scooping it up faster, but not all at once. I’m ok with holding that thru the next crisis. 2-3 years from now I think gold will be north of $7,000. Just my own wild guess, but the money changers will destroy it all.

How much did it cost? How could a grandkid break it?

Hanging on to amzn, I was buying all the way down to 200. Keeping it for the long term I think. They seem to be on the cutting edge of new tech all the time. Keeping my crbl and dg. I have this fund that has been me a steady .0058 monthly (7% annually), for years and years and years. I’m wondering if I should put more into it and just sit back these 8-10 years. Or wait until I retire to do that or what.

Trying to figure out if I keep pru or cut my losses. Same with unh

UNH is on the climb. It feels like the big money is slowly moving back into it now that they got a funding bump from the government.

PRU is one of those waiting room stocks. I’ll sit there until a better idea comes along. You should really only be looking forward and ignore what’s already happened. As of today, unrealized loss or not, where is the best place to grow those dollars looking forward? In your opinion, if it’s still PRU, stay there. If it’s not, dump it and get those funds where their best chances for growth will be looking ahead.

I think tough times are close. Private debt issuers are quietly imploding. Trouble is that toxic crap is held by banks, insurance companies, and private equity, so there will be a financials crash when it’s no longer avoidable. Who it hits and how hard is yet to be seen. I’ve got my fingers crossed the regulators have kept an eye on insurance companies that have that junk on their books.

I’d be weary of any outfit holding markers on the poor. They’re behind on their payments and that situation is quietly getting worse. Hell, I see Fox News is now running commercials selling private debt investment opportunities. That’s how you know the end for that ruse is close.
