Stock Market is the bottom in?

Eggs were up for a couple of months and they way everyone overreacted you would think that people were living off of eggs and nothing else. Yup, the sky is falling AGAIN. Bad news spreads like wildfire and good news hardly gets a mention. jmo

PLTR has now blown 25% of it's market cap off it's 52 week high.

They didn't have to raise them - just renew what was already in place. Once the crowds pf people lose their ACA insurance, due to now-raising premiums they can't afford, someone will have to foot the bill (all of us look in the mirror here) by raising our healthcare premiums. This - raising our healthcare premiums to pay for uninsured Americans - has been going on for years now. Call it taxes, call it jacked-up premiums, call it a fudge sundae ..... it has been, and will continue to be - money out of our pockets. Doctors & hospitals aren't going to treat for free - so step right up to pay more for uninsured others ...... any name you want to give it.

Good thing someone gave about $$$ 4 trillion in tax breaks to the billionaires over the next decade, so they don't suffer too much. Hate to see them lose their medical insurance, yachts, multiple homes, private jets, helicopters, submarines & underground bunkers (yes - for real) - or have to eat less than 5-star restaurant faire.

This will only get much worse as AI eliminates millions of white-collar jobs - which, according to multiple CEO's in various industries, are target #1. Even the CEO of Ford said a day or 2 ago, that millions of white-collar folks will be left behind due to AI. These billionaire CEO types are hailed as being "brilliant", right? Soooo .... are they wrong? Full of sh--? Numerous big bank CEO's, investment heads, economists, and Wall Street folks are saying they're anticipating a big selloff in the stock market, tech bubble bursting, AI eliminating millions of jobs, etc. Sounds like more millions might be on the "I lost my medical insurance" train. Swell times. Rosey, I'd say.
How long do you think we (the taxpayers) should continue to fund part of the healthcare costs for millions of people? My premiums are going up, and I have to pay that. Now I have to pay the increasing premiums for someone else as well?

We can agree that healthcare is too expensive, but having the government subsidize anything will not bring down the actual costs.

The problem is, not only is the system not designed to cure anyone, it’s designed to feed people into a sales funnel so they get worse and worse and then die profitably.

Women have been used up by the system. Got cramps? Go on birth control pills. Birth control making you depressed? Go on antidepressants. Antidepressants making you shake uncontrollably like you have Parkinson’s? Here’s some benzos. Have you heard about the dangers of HPV? Whoops, now you can add manic depressive and bipolar to your problems.

^ Always been someone to shout "the sky is falling" or "FIRE!! in a crowded theater. I think people are pretty resilient....and will find a way through this too. We need more craftsmen.....with a desire to make neat stuff......or do we? I suppose a clock maker or a tv repairman dont have much purpose anymore. Glad I am retired.
Trump stated recently that American workers aren't smart enough to do the tech / chip jobs. How much of a kick to the b*lls does anyone need???

UPS laid off 48,000 people this year, Chegg (an online business) laid off half of its workforce, and Salesforce laid off 4000 saying AI is now doing almost all of their work. When Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, and Musk both stated that AI will eliminate millions of jobs - white collar jobs - I ask again .... are they full of sh?? Some in this country see them as geniuses ....... so which is it - geniuses or liars?? Jensen Huang, when asked at a packed auditorium press conference, what field would he advise young people to train for these days , said ..... farming. Does that sound tech-y and high-paying?? Musk said publicly that people can concentrate on growing our own food. Sounds like reverse to me. Feudal times again like in OLD days???

Goldman Sachs today predicts a $40 billion sell of equities over the next week. Their words - not mine. I'm only passing along the info. More and more financial managers are looking at a big sell-off. Hedge fund managers are deciding whether to get out of stock positions, and place bets on the markets going even lower.

Sky falling??? Fire?? Those aren't my ^ ^ ^ ^ determinations - I'm only passing along the words & thoughts others have stated plainly & publicly. The others being in places of "leadership" - you know ....... the ones who are "looking out for the American workers." Job creators??? ...... or now - job eliminators with AI????

We'll see who's still standing after all this slashing, gashing blood-fest of the world economy. Hint - those with a "B" starting the totals of their net worths.

i think everything begins and ends with rates. Until rates come down the economy is going to be in the mud and sinking down. We are built on low borrowing costs. But we have policies that aren’t conducive to rates coming down plus a political fed that refuses to lower rates even if they need to be. So here we are. Economic purgatory. Nothing will change till Powell is gone and someone comes in and lowers rates by a full point or more.

Also I’m not buying the AI excuse. I think corporations are saying it’s AI to save face and not admit they are struggling in this economy and thus the layoffs. It hasn’t been a smart power play to say negative things about this administrations policies publicly.

Anyone pay attention to the job growth today?

Yeah n oh t good it didn’t appear. Fox business was crushing it.
