Stock Market is the bottom in?

I agree with not forcing folks to go EV. I think the tax advantages were to encourage people to try EV's - not a forcing thing. Hybrid will work well for wife and me.

As for grid capacity .... more nukes and geothermal coming. U.S. grid needs a long-overdue upgrading anyway.
Let us know how you like the hybrid. I don't know much about those but I sure do like my diesel. Would be good to get an honest review of the good the bad and everything in between.

Can we invest in Russia? They seem to be having a good week or two. Big winners today

I'm trying to figure out which one is better for future gains WMT or DELL. They are almost the same price right now.

Dell has about a 1/2 percent better dividend. Should probably divvy up the funds and get both?

Which one has better growth? Margin?

We don't have one yet, but it won't be long judging from the age of our current vehicles!! They've been paid off for years and still run well - but the clock is ticking. Most of our driving these days is short-run mileage - local to 130 miles or so - well within a charge range. I'll report what we experience with a hybrid once we get one.

I looked them up. I’m thinking the ETF VDC is an option for wmt

I’m increasing my position in Gilead today.

Even though it’s P/E is crazy high Fidelity lists it as very undervalued?

Anyone think the tariffs tomorrow will absolutely torpedo the market? I’m thinking about buying some puts today

A few weeks ago when they initially were put in place the markets were way down, then the "agreements" were made and bounced back.

Seems like a safe bet they drop tomorrow but who knows if they'll stay down for long.

My job is technology related. I don't know how it will affect the market, but I was getting calls from equipment vendors saying if I had any orders that I needed to place, do it before March because they were expecting their prices would go up. I didn't let it affect my buying, so we'll see.

No. And I heard today our lumber tariff on Canada will increase the price of the average new home by 7-10k. Talk about already killing a dead market.
I hope they get to cutting USA lumber!

I’m sick of choking on it when it’s burning up in the summer!

That’s the plan I heard. And that’s great (but stay out of wilderness areas), but regardless that’s not a near term solution. Will take years to see any domestic relief

My neighbor works for the forestry department in eastern Idaho.

She told me a few years back NO ONE would bid on their lumber sales.

We don’t need no Canadian lumber IMO

Another big down day. Somewhat enjoying the pullback. My wife and I have 2 years worth of Roth IRA contributions to deploy. I just have them sitting in the accounts for now. Also have about $35,000 to deploy in my SEP IRA yet. I definitely see more blood in the short term. Gonna just sit here and do nothing. The 10 year is dropping. I think rate cuts will be coming sooner than later.

I expect Ukraine war and some of this tariff stuff to be resolved by summer. Also expecting some segments are gonna see decreases in inflation over the next few months. Short term recession looks possible with a big surge coming out of it. Just my 2 cents.
