Nope. Considered making one out of wood myself, hydroping, the original, or painting the original. Do Boyds make customs? I'm cheap so that is a consideration...Hey catscratch...I'm with you in disliking plastic stocks. Did you consider a Boyds stock?
Great site! I'd never looked at it before but I'll save it for other projects. Thanks! That looks nice. We all miss wood stocks. A friend's dad was a painter and would (wood) do that in homes.
Here is another good wood stock source. https://richardsmicrofitgunstocks.com
Especially if you are cheap.
98% it looks awful! But that might not be as bad as black plastic...When I started reading this thread my first thought was “80% chance this looks awful” but it looks magnitudes better than I could have imagined. Looks real. Nice work.
That looks incredible. Light years better than I expected. Can you provide more detailed steps you took?I don't like plastic stocks. Decided to try painting my shotgun plastic to look like wood. Will wait a week to finish it but here's the start...

I went to Boyds and West Fork's site that he posted above. I can't find a set for my gun at either place (which is the same problem I had before I decided to just paint the plastic myself). I know it will never feel like wood, but it may just have to be what it is.Boyd's makes custom wood stocks for just about every rifle and/or shotgun out there.
What's the saying about putting lipstick on a pig? The thing I would have a hard time getting past is the fact that no matter how much like wood it looks, it's still plastic.
My 14 seconds of research says the stock is easy, but the forend doesn't exist in wood.
Unless you want to pay more than the gun cost for custom.
When I didn't want one of my turkey guns to be black, I went to town with the sponge.
(which is all too small / dense to be the most effective camouflage, from a distance it looks like one solid color. To be good camo it should be bigger, larger blotches. But reality was it was more for "me" than the birds, so I went with what looked good up close. lol )

Dude, that looks great! I've got 3 I can send you to do!I'm done goofing with it. It's still not wood, but I do like it better than black or camo.

I was trying not to sound like the skeptical Dick I can be but you’re right, I gave it very lower odds than 20% of turning out as good as it did. Nice work!98% it looks awful! But that might not be as bad as black plastic...
