With snow on the ground and hunting seasons still going strong in many states, the though of burning is far from most "to-do lists," dormant-season burns help manage grasslands and promote native plant growth. Fire is frequently listed as the most powerful tool in the habitat management toolbox.

I know the East TX PBA is very active, and has regular classes and demonstration burns you can attend. If you sign up, they send out events updates often.

Soon as the snow showed up, I got all my burning done. It was nice to get all that stuff cleaned up. I'd like to do one more, but I have to pile everything up first.

I'll be doing burns at the cabin property and the farm....I really need to do a growing season burn, but I may put that off until 2027 when I am retired!

IMO that is a good thing, hopefully burn hot enough to kill more cedars and other trash brush.

Get good burns, but I worry about control (or I should say out of control) and wind.
