Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore

I'm considering purchasing a new gun as I desperately need one. 😃 I googled the model I was interested in purchasing and saw a very competitive price at an online store named Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore ( not to be confused with Sportsmans Warehouse) I did some background searches and another outdoor forum had a member that said he had made a purchase there without a problem. That's all well and fine but I was wondering if any members on this forum, who's handle I would recognize and trust, have ever purchased a gun from them and what kind of experience you had. Feel free to name other gun websites you've confidently purchased from if your not familiar with this one.

Not familiar, but I have used Bud's Guns several times and they are great!

Make sure you read the fine print. Some cheap places have handling fees or require particuarly expensive shipping. You also get a fee from your local gun shop too.

Never had a bad deal from gunbroker ever. Also, keep in mind your mode of payment. Paypal Venmo and some other payment platforms can cancel your account and freeze your money for purchase firearms / ammo with their service. Paypal did it to me in 2021.

It's worth trying out the gun in person. I love my savage axis, but absolutely hated that accu trigger.

This time of year might be a bit busy for those places if you need it fast.

Bought quite a few guns from palmetto state armory. Never had a problem - but also never had to send one back

I don't know them either; however, I have purchased from Bud's guns also with good success.

I've bought at Buds and Northern Firearms....which is also Reeds Sporting Goods based out of Walker MN. Never had an issue with any firearms purchased thru Gun Broker......and have done some buying from smaller gun shops and used local FFL's for delivery. Also have done a little selling and all has gone to plan. As time goes by.....it does pay to know whom your dealing with. More scammers each day it seems....or maybe I am getting easier to fool?

Just had a call from Maricopa County Sheriffs office at my home here in MN. The guy said they were about to issue a warrant for my arrest.....as I had skipped jury duty.....and he wanted some Identification over the phone. I hung up on the SOB......as I am too old for Jury Duty and they are recording my responses and trying to get info from me for who know's what purpose?

I just hate these scum.

Bought my last gun online from ScopeList and got an extra discount giving them a voice call b4 the purchase. YES, I got to talk to a real (Tyler) person!!!! Worth a call (866) 271-7212

I bought a handgun from Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore a few years back. I think I have bought a few other things since then from them also. No problems with them at all. I paid. They shipped the gun to my FFL and I picked it up.

What would be the benefit of buying a gun online versus a local store? I'd prefer to see and handle the gun and talk to a gunsmith about the weapon if possible first.

Let me know when and where they lock you up. I'm close enough to you I can come bail you out. I would just need the last 9 digits of your social security number and the geographic location of your best hunting property. Us food plot guys gotta stick together ya know.

I was going to ask that same question. Is it just that prices are cheaper online?

Support your local store... IF you have a local store worthy of supporting. Just because they're local doesn't mean they are. lol
Some stores work on volume, little nibbles of the pie, while some try to make the whole months rent with every sale. 😉

For my instance, no one locally (or even in reasonable driving distance) carried the Christensen Arms 6.5 PRC I was interested in. And ScopeList had an incredible sale going on at the time.

I'd prefer to see the gun in person also but I could not find the gun I wanted locally.
