I have a red anjou pear tree that bloomed out weeks ago, maybe even a month. It has fruit on it the size of a dime. I took a ride in back and it has flowers on these long stems. Is this normal? What is going on with this tree?
Cool. Is it just one branch or the whole tree? Looks like some sort of genetic mutation. I would let it go and see how it turns out. Might be something interesting or useful.
It’s not what I would call common, but I see it frequently. Last fall I had several different apple trees with blooms in November. There is one variety of apple I have read about that it is common to see blossoms twice in the spring. I can’t recall the variety, but I read it on the BHCF website.
