I was on my land last week so I wanted to update this thread. The soy bean field has been completely eaten by the deer and turkeys. The farmer with the adjacent standing corn finally picked it and his fields are bare. Figures, as planting season is soon approaching. In addition to that fact, there were four separate snow storms in April that dropped a total of 30+ inches of snow. 20 inches of that came in the last storm.
Normally the 12 acre alfalfa field would be a lush green by now. It is just barely showing a little green. So the deer must have used the RR soy beans as the food of choice for April.
I am glad the deer and turkeys had a late winter food source. Now my planting choices are so much easier.
