Releasable Cable Ties

I can't remember where I bought a bag of 1000 releasable cable ties last year, but I need more...any advice on the best place to get them and what size to buy? I guess that them being releasable isn't a big priority, since the tubes will stay on until they split. I seem to recall that 10", 50 lb was what I had and I thought that I got them from John, but I don't see them on the site this year. Thanks!

I go through so many, I use the cheap ones from harbor freight. On sale plus a 20% coupon. I'm not too worried about longevity but you can buy better ones if you care. The 8" are $2 before the coupon per 100: http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=cable+tie They are not the fancy releasable ones. Just dirt cheap.

Thanks,

Jack

For certain things, I love the releasable ties. I like them for tying 2 piece fishing rods together when I'm pack the truck full. When the rods are all tied together the rod tips are protected better. I haven't had a tip get broken in years.
Releasable ties are great in the canoe, too. We tend to tie things in for running the occasional rapid. Releasable ties allow stuff to be secured and then quickly available when needed. I really like 'em.
