Poplar cutting question?

I am wondering if poplar cuttings can be done at any time like willow? I have taken willow now, soaked them iin water and they grew roots and I potted them up...I am wondering if anyone knows if the same can be done with hybrid poplar?? I have a hybrid willow screen that is going to crap and want to get a start on replacements for next year.

Give it a try and see.
I would say it wouldn't work if you tried just planting them. But soaking in water might actually work.
