Wondering what you would due in this situation.

Tilled my rye and clover under this spring. Planted sorghum. Went to spray it today and it looks like a bust. Not sure if the seed was bad or what.

The clovers is kinda coming back but the plot is full of thistle.

Was thinking maybe spray it with 24db and just letting the clover come back and then nuking in the fall with roundup and going with radish and rye again this fall. And trying sorghum again next spring.

Is there anything I could be missing as far as a summer option.

Would have to be throw and grow.

1Acre.

If you need food for your deer I would go with something quick and easy like buckwheat or sunflower. Then go with something that combats soil compaction this fall, like your plan of radish and rye.

If you don't need a summer food source I would let the thistle do its thing, which is fighting compaction. And then spray it when it flowers, before it makes seed. The clover may be enough to keep your deer happy in the meantime.

Isn't it still a bit early for sorghum up there?
