Pelletized Lime

Yearling... With promise
Hello Everyone,

I will be planting a food plot in 2019. Cereal grain/clover/peas mix in one plot, and brassicas in another plot. Rotate each year. I will be getting a soil test done shortly. Regarding pellet lime, can I just top dress it on top of killed vegetation and "Not" work it in? Will it leech into the ground deep enough by only top dressing?

It is my understanding that I need to get lime applied as early as possible but I will not be able to till/disc the soil until the actual day I plant.

Thanks guys.

It will soak in fine after a rain. No need to disc it in. The benefit of discing it in, is it gets deeper into the soil faster then just top dressing it, but it will leech through faster and be out of reach of the roots faster as well.
