I could use some help determining the exact type of oaks I have.

First tree.

Acorns side by side for comparison. Acorns are from last year's crop I found still on ground.

Leaf form tells me they are both in the red oak family. Beyond that, most likely northern red or black oak ?

First tree looks like northern red

Second one looks like black oak

Red oaks varieties are tough!

Thanks guys. I thought they were both the same that first year until i saw the acorns were different.

I agree in that they are either northern red oak or black oaks, they can be difficult to tell the difference.
