I was getting my human food plots ready for winter this weekend, and that meant pulling weeds for the first time. I’m assuming this was a rogue vetch of some sort I had in my garden. I yanked it out and was surprised at the nodules on it.

Just think of all the nitrogen you lost by pulling those plants. You gotta let that stuff release the nitrogen for your cash crop by termination with a roller crimper. ;).

Vetch is a great nitrogen affixing plant.

After seeing those roots, I'm half tempted to introduce vetch again to my road plot where I think I've got compaction issues. I'm still wrastlin' with that idea in my head. You can't put that genie back in the bottle after you unleash that stuff. I really need to watch how it responds next season after rolling.
