Next spring, bare rooting acorn grown Oaks - should I top them.

Im going to lift a handful of acorn grown Burr Oaks from a bed this spring and I got thinking. Does anyone top there transplanted oaks ... I have gotten the bulk of my oaks topped from state nurseries - assuming for shipping/storage space reasons but,,,,, anyone have any thought on topping them to reduce mortality post planting. I have planted many larger oaks shipped full size or 3 foot or better so I know I can just lift and plant. But for any of you nursery types out there ... Just a thought I had months before doing something

I have not done that. I plant 2-3 footers and I pop in about 100 acorns every year .
