Most cell cams do not take pictures if it’s transmitting. So I’m sure that could contribute. I don’t of any camera, cell or not that nails subjects on every trigger.

the red 6 was good cheap cam except for the fact it was loud and make a picture sound. It resulted in a lot of pictures just like the one you posted. Staring right at the camera. He’s loading up to get the hell out of dodge after hearing it.
Or driving 2 hours to grab the film and the batteries were dead after just a few pics. Should have just put new batteries in each time. Lithiums would have been nice back then.
Somewhere I've got hundreds of pics from it hidden away. Here's one. Flash range wasn't the greatest.

We actually got quite a few pics of him on that occasion. That stand wasn't very far off a well road-hunted road and it's WV so it's on a bait pile so I'm sure he was already pretty nervous. I really can't believe a buck like that came in, in the daylight. That's a giant for that area. Naturally nobody was in the blind that day.
This past year I decided no more cameras of any kind...I get too obsessed wanting to take trips out just to check cameras etc...I definitely miss it. But numerous times I would watch deer etc walk directly in front of a camera and it not capture the pictures. I think they are a great tool but I only own 2 80 acre farms. The less pressure the better IMO.
What are those features on the new one? I'm hoping they will be offering plans for multiple cams.

I just looked it up. Camera is a nice price point 119.99. Plans are $13/month $120/year for unlimited. I think the others are photos per month. I think I could get away with 250 photos a month at most of my locations.

Yeah that looks like the original model still on the website. Most of us got them for $99 or less. 250 pics has been enough for me, just wish they'd discount it for multiple cams. I'm for sure not going to pay that much for their unlimited plan with multiple cams. Think I saw a whole dollar off after the first cam.

I can't really say if mine has been that bad. Getting deer way out there. Squirrels as well. Did have mine on the same tree as a Stealth for the wood ducks but haven't checked the other cam yet. Have that one set for video so probably not a great comparison.

That was directly from their website. I'll have to watch for sales. Never had a cell camera. I have no service at my property, but a place I have permission to hunt does so I thought about getting one for there.

I feel like mine also misses some right in the sensor range, but at the same time I'm getting vehicles triggering my camera from like 90 yards away. I will say I'd rather miss some than get every blade of grass moving like I do with moultrie.

The new ones (base model) are very similar to the last years' model. I think improvements were made but I can't remember what they are.
The new higher end model has some features that will be popular for people that worry about battery life as well as multiple carriers. I can't disclose any details yet lol.
THere has been a shortage on all sorts of electronic components across the tech industry. I work at a place that sells components and prices and demand are up while supply is down and lead times are extending. Expect the price of the new cameras to reflect that.

Haha Tamarack I bought a Camtracker in 2003 or 2004... I think it would still take good pictures. That was a lot of fun and a great camera. I tried several of the early 35mm film cameras and the Camtracker was definately the best!
That said, I have had about a dozen of the original Cuddeback Capture cameras that I started accumulating in 2005-06. I still have at least 5 or 6 of those cameras from 15 YEARS AGO that I use regularly, and these are digital. Im impressed and always loved those Cuddes... but since the Captures went away, so has my respect for Cuddeback.

I remember long before then seeing their ads in hunting magazines. Caught the bug well before I even bought a trail camera. Was young and a bit too much $ for me then.

I see the Reveal X is now available. For some reason I thought it was going to be a black flash/no-glo...maybe because so many were asking for one. White flash as well..as they were surprised how many were requesting it. Maybe they're coming. Will be interesting to see the reviews and comparison to the previous model.
