Need some advice

Very investing that pine isn't touched...in the Midwest it is the White Pine or Cedar that is the favorite food for deer. I remember a forestry professor telling me it was based on nitrogen density or maybe it was just nutrient density, but related to nitrogen.

The only time I see deer really go all out spruce here is when a clearcut happens and it's in spruce, white or black spruce. Come out to check the timber sale and I got 50-100 deer just chilling. And nearby is a deer yard usually.
Deer here don't hammer spruce as a food item, they just nibble the youngest shoot tips. But it can set the trees back on growth.

Maybe we have enough other food items here, since deer don't eat white pines or pitch pines - but they will rub pitch pines big-time. It's one of their favorite rub trees here.

They definitely hammer white pine here. They nibble norway spruce in the winter, but not too hard. No experience with white spruce, yet, but will be planting that in the next 2 years.
