New Home with 10 Acres - Seeking Habitat advice/opinions

Thanks for the feedback I'll try to get an update here for folks on the progress. We didnt get nearly as many planted as shown above but we did get the south edge planted, the inside of the creek to the pond and then the dogwood and hazelnuts near the pond. Lots learned and hopefully will make next spring even better. Only dreaming of having equipment to make this process easier... time for something more than the garden tractor!

Maybe plant some pin oaks on the west bank of that pond and in the flood plane of that small creek. Ducks I believe like their small acorns

And pin oaks tolerate wetter soils. I know of some dandies growing at the edge of a swamp. Wild - no care & they look great.

Appreciate the feedback, thought I'd post an update of what we got done this past year. Lots of the mature woods near the house had blow downs and ash bore disease so there has been lots of clean up there. Most of the inside of the creek was planted and we'll be working on a bridge to cross over the creek in the spring to get some others planted beyond it, currently its only travelable by foot when shallow and/or when frozen. I did drop a doe in the NW corner of the property across the creek. Was able to use the neighbors small bridge to walk out and retrieve it. Hope all had a good holiday. Thanks again for the feedback more to come this spring!

That's good news, csamps10. Congrats on the doe. We'll be watching for what you do going forward. Good luck with all of it!

EAB is killing ash trees everywhere - you're not alone on that.
