Got my seed metered out tonight for seeding our brassica spray and pray plots tomorrow. I need to know what rate to seed into our failed soybean plot. The soybeans are likely completely defoliated and cut down to 3" bare stems. Do I go full rate with the brassica or scale back yet?

I'd also like to go 10-20% rye in it if there is room. Any help is much appreciated.

Full rate will be fine no reason to cut your seed rate when the soys are dead. Treat it like a clean fall brassica planting. The rye could go in at a normal rate as well.

That's what i needed to know. I was leaning that way too, but wasn't sure.

Chris-you are too scientific. I just go in and broadcast seed. The brassica always is about 5X what it should be.

It helps John out as he can sell me more seed the next year!

I'm tryin to geek my way as close to perfect as I can get for that year when all the stars align.

I do 5 pounds acre. U can always add rye after u get your brassica germination
