AgreedTo your point about public lands I agree with the idea of limiting non residents on STATE owned ground but not federal ground. That is every citizens ground.

True. That’s always a tough one for me. On one hand it’s the states wildlife but it’s our land. If the state can manage the wildlife on federal land why can’t they manage the oil and timber. Don’t get me wrong I don’t want them to pull what Utah wants to do and essentially take over federal land but I’m not knowledgeable on why there are differencesNR sure are limited a lot on Fed land, though
I hope you fill out the survey and add some comments. I am a little worried about the representation of non-residents in the survey responses.Didn’t read everything. But are you kidding me? I’ve been a NR landowner in MO for 20 years. We haven’t had a game warden in my county in 3 years and the last one wouldn’t do anything that might put him in danger. (Not that I blame Him).
The rules on my farm put in place by me far exceed anything MDC would ever do.
Welcome to the show me state. Show me you’re going to uphold theses rules……
Pfffftt

No they don’t !!I cant imagine the Drurys or any of the hunting Celebs would like this rule
What else did he say ? Any hints ?I spoke to a legislator yesterday who is really for reciprocal licensing. I kind of like the idea.
This was in Kentucky. But, he didn't go into any more detail. He did say he has properties in different states and knows he pays considerably more than residents. If I was in MO, I would contact every legislator I could. There has to be a way to make them see how much nonresident landowners contribute to protecting and managing natural resources. What else did he say ? Any hints ?
And, for some states, that's just not a possibility. Midwest state deer hunters have a different playground than most of the country when it comes to whitetails.I was reading Iowa whitetails thread on this and I agree with skips point in theory but not in reality. His argument was if all these people who want to come to Iowa would change their state they wouldn’t need to come to Iowa. Amen. But that’s like saying Iranians should just overthrow their government. Sounds great. Good luck
Here’s a counter, I hear those guys always complaining about the number of deer and lack of cover on Iowa. 7% of the state or something is wooded. Well telling someone from out of state to change their regulations in their own state would be like telling them to plant more trees. And, for some states, that's just not a possibility.
