If it went to court he very well could justify the first shot that he thought she was trying to run him over because from that view he probably couldn't see her wheels turned but in May 2025 the Supreme Court ruled in a case, "Every single shot must be justified". So by the 2nd and 3rd shot he was at the side of car and not in harms way as he continued to shoot at the side of the car. Only one bullet went through the windshield.
