Yes im still bitter how they handled all are top notch info we put into there forum. For the almighty dollar and fame they go and delete it all. Now they are sending out emails saying you can join for $5. I would love to know how much down there subscribers are.

Every time they send a renewal or join notice I pencil in how much I dislike QDMA because of how the forum was deleted and send it to them in their postage paid envelope.
Not bitter like some but want QDMA to know they screwed up!!!!

I'm both bitter and spiteful. There is nothing they could offer me to get my loyalty back. Deleting the website illustrated their character and intentions. I won't write them letters or send emails, but it sure isn't a problem to turn my back and walk away without looking back.

It was a very stupid thing they did just dumping the Forum like they did. I had months of info on some of my threads and have not posted as much since then just because (don't take this wrong) but did not want to loose even more research which I wanted to freely share with others. To be honest I hardly ever looked at their magazines unless I was very board or just wanted to look at the pictures. Don't get me wrong I am not saying I know more than them about deer but a lot of what they published just was not really good info for my area. But I did enjoy reading and sharing on that forum. At times I feel like they just wanted to silence those of us who preached you did not have to buy high dollar buck on bag seeds to have a food plot of equal value. I really miss the NWSG section that LC had crafted with his knowledge and reading different things on hinge cutting and early secession to the different tree topics like fruit trees and grafting. All very interesting topics.

Guess I should begin posting more.

Hmmm,
I'm a life member. Like others I don't really pay any attention to them and don't even read the magazine any longer. My son on the other hand just can't help ripping it open and looking at the pics. Unless he's pinching them from the mail box before I see them I'd say I haven't received a magazine in months. Maybe a cost saving measure because that 3 color glossy publication isn't cheap to produce.

I wish it was here, but all of LC's threads including the NWSG info are still running strong at Outreachoutdoors.com. Paul was an active member there. Personally, I believe that is where most of his content was produced and he just copied it to the Q forums.

I am a life member. I joined 25 or so years ago.
When I got the recent magazine, I just skimmed it and found nothing I wanted to read. When I get anything from them in the mail, like their raffle tickets, I rip them up and send them back in their prepaid envelope. I left a note in the envelope that I would not buy from or sell anything for the QDMA. They can pay for the postage just because they irritated me with their crap.
There was a huge amount of pertinent information on the online forum. I miss it and the interaction with other members willing to share their knowledge.

I got to the party late on the QDMA thing. I understand that a lot of good information was lost based on, I assume, a business decision. I didn't contribute to that information much however I learned a lot. For that I am thankful. I try not to harbor ill feelings, especially on something like this. I will say though that when I saw a QDMA commercial the other day I kinda chuckled, then was sad, then thought to myself good luck.
Don't want to rehash all that again but I find it hard to believe there might not have been a better way, idk. I'm sure people much smarter than I had their reasons.
Good Luck QDMA. Not a customer, I'm moving on.

I haven't been contacted....in any way since I specifically sent Lindsay a nasty e-mail about my canceling my membership. I still have a burr in my tail about the whole thing.... Had a guy on the other forum ask about QDMA and I tried really hard not to get nasty..... I think for a beginner QW may have some interesting stuff, or at least it did. As we get more and more experienced I think we out grow the info in QW and we have other and better resources to fuel our habitat drive. What kills me is how the Q pushes all these different services, when most of that stuff can be found out there for free.....but folks line up and shell out the money for a piece of paper with that logo on it as some sort of confirmation. The one thing I tell people all the time, "You don't need the QDMA to practice QDM". The ONLY thing I see the Q offering is local chapters where a physical local network can get you in contact with like minded folks. However chapters also will see the funding raising push from the corporate organization as well.

The one thing I have noticed time and time again is many current QDMA members have no idea what went down with the forum. Many members never visited the website, much less the forum and as such the Q was pretty successful in sweeping that activity under the rug from the general population of members. I have had several lengthy conversations with folks that start out with, "I figured a deer and habitat nut like you would be a member of QDMA?" Then I try to stay calm and not flip out! Many are totally surprised at how that went down from our perspective.....not sure if it changes their mind, but it at least seems to open some eyes once in a while. I'm not trying to put QDM in a poor light.....I just want folks to think more for themselves and realize you may or may not need the "A" portion of it!

Problem with that is I can no longer get signed in to my OO account. I had a problem getting my password to work and nothing I have tried seems to work. I hate to begin a new account with another user name, evidently I had enough trouble using the same username!

Yep- I was on the website for only a few months before they canned it.Was about to join, Wrote a harsh email to Lindsey, my state rep & Kip.

I think it’s funny now that they have guys like Adam & Matt, who are GrowingDeer alumina giving seminars & speaking at their events when they are basically pushing the same things the forum did.

I joined NWTF this year, but not sure I’ll keep it up.

I still feel very torn about things with the Q. They had done an article on me and my place a few years ago. They actually reached out to me because of the sharing I was doing on their forum. I wasn't posting to brag but to show others that if I could do it anybody could. I was and am pretty damn proud of the work I have done and was pretty happy that they felt it was worth sharing with others as well. I was tickled to think that what I had done would reach an even bigger audience by going from a forum and into actual circulated print. However, now with what has happened, I see that framed article on the wall at the house and have mixed feelings about it. I'm still proud of the work..... I'm just not so proud, but rather disappointed and hurt by the organization that published it. I may have given up on QDMA.....but I still believe and practice QDM......they can keep the "A" and stick it!

The forum was the best thing about QDMA IMO. The magazine wasn't very informative, just PICS and advertisements. I personally contacted, via E-mail, many of the board members and pleaded for the forum to remain up but I was informed that it was a cost move. So the cost of my membership has been moved as well!!!!! I'm happy to be here and I'm doubly glad Paul Knox is with us on this forum as well. Great information Paul! RIP!

To the OP. They have been running those types of deals with bass pro cards and possibly others for years now.

To everyone else. Who gives a damn? They closed shop. So have some of my favorite restaurants, sporting goods stores, etc. Things change with time and living in and/or rehashing the past is something I personally don't have time for. The only constant in life is change, for better or for worse.

If I ever get the chance id beat em, smack em, kick their dog and burn their house down....ok maybe not that extreme but ill never buy this products or support them in any way after what they did to the forumn

Been a big fan of Paul Knox for years and the best source I know for any of LC aka dbltree threads is from regional Iowa hunting forum which has preserved his threads here. Paul was from Iowa.

https://www.iowawhitetail.com/forum/forums/dbltrees-corner.45/

Paul was posting and started many of his threads from the mid 2000s there on and copied from there to others like Michigan Sportsman Forum, later to QDMA, and much later Habitat Talk. I remember reading many of those threads especially the tree planting one from the get go. And while today they all are many, many pages long with posts, they were even double that in the past but the forum got reformatted and are now able to cram much more info per page. I remember a few years back the tree planting forum was over 100+ pages of posts and now is more compact but you can read the first 10 pages or so and get most of the core of his experiences.

I don't miss the magazine, I don't miss the forum, and I sure as hell don't miss Duffy.

Most of there best articles where from the guys who openly post on there forum first. I bet the quality of there articles has gone down after what they pulled. I thought joining one of there branches sounded fun. After looking into joining, it appeared they want you to vest huge amount of time working then send QDMA all the money.
