I scoped the local ducks, and there is a Mandarin duck in eclipse plumage. I sure would like to get it mounted, but I don't know if it will stick around until it has its feathers back.
None of the mallards seem to have bands. The geese are gone.
I would like to eat a Mandarin duck too. Folks say they taste like wood duck, and there are no woodies in Europe.
