If you mow 30bu per acre type rye. You could be over seeding by a bunch, be prepared. Good Luck
I like to add oats so there's enough growing. If you mow 30bu per acre type rye. You could be over seeding by a bunch, be prepared. Good Luck
My stands were older, also.My established clover snapped back, but last August's seedings generally got zapped. I think the December warm up followed by below zero temps and no snow were the causes.
IME, no. You've got to get that rye seed to the ground if you want it to grow this fall. Roller, ATV tires, cultipacker, something. If I spread some brassica in mid august and let the rye seed fall will I have rye growing in September?
It gent tipped over? If it hasn't it probably will, especially if u had the same wind I had yesterdayI've got rye to the top of my head (6'4")...it was cheap, field rye from a local co-op. Most of it is a bit over 5.5', but there are spots where it is a foot taller. Must have been more left over N from last year's brassicas in those spots
If u want better germination, drag the rye too. It breaks that seed head up and gets it to the dirt better
