Killing Johnsongrass…

Alright, after 4 full years of deferring grazing on the place, it has become apparent that we have quite a bit of invasive johnsongrass on the place. Any recommendations of how to kill it out without destroying the rest of the plants in the grassland?

Check into Plateau herbicide. I'm a little rusty on the details, but as I recall you can kill JG and save most other plants with the exception of switchgrass.

Yes, Plateau knocked it out for the most part in my prairie establishment.

Fall spraying of roundup will work or I’ve used Outrider with success and it won’t kill everything like round up does but it’s quite expensive I think I gave $300 for a bottle of Outrider but it also works on ash trees that I have some difficulty ridding myself of in some locations.
