Keltec CMR 30 Review .22 Mag

I think I have finally found my SxS gun, messing around gun and maybe my tractor gun. A keltec CMR 30. Weighs less than 4 lbs and collapsable down to 22 inches. I aint crazy about the trigger. A little creep and a little heavier than I like. It is not as nice a trigger as on the PMR 30 handgun - which uses same 30 rd mags

I put a Paragon 4X red dot - which I knew nothing about - but the $250 price was more bearable than $1500 for ACOG or similar. Besides, this sight has a spot to mount a small reflex holographic sight when running traps and shooting critters at 15 ft. This red dot has a very functional reticle when not illuminated. I sighted it in with out turning on illumination. It has a 3/4 circle and dot and mil dot markings. I like it - I think it pars well with rifle

I have recently read a few articles on the 22 Mag. Renewed interest in an old cartridge. I owed one in a Ruger 77 that my grandson now has. Shot lots of P dogs out to 100 yards or so with mine. Fun truck gun in Dakotas. Recent articles about new ammo that I think Hornady is making for the 22 mag with decent bullets. I think the velocity is getting up there and the good bullets (polymer tips) have good BC's IIRC. I can see using it for a trapping gun. That collapsed size is sure nice.

Take the trigger apart, clean and grease it. A little polishing or emery cloth can clean them up too.

Made a few guns alot better over the years just doing this. That cut they make to do a sear edge is usually the culprit.

Just a small dab of grease without diassembly will probably make it a bit nicer.

I think the 22 mag is perhaps the most versatile cartridge available.

Looks like you got a nice firearm!

Congrats
