Is something wrong with him

Was excited to get this guy on camera but upon closer inspection he appears to have something going on with his face and legs. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Kind of looks like mud but I haven't seen one look like this before and his eye looks a little swolen.

I'd be hoping he was drinking in a mud hole, but I'm a little worried. He might have some issues going on. That eye sure looks closed more than the other. Nice looking rack.

Most likely Warts, probably more appropriate technical name but not a problem for the deer nor to eat.

I'd say mud. He even has it on his antlers.
