Imox question?

Have a clover plot that is being over taken by yellow nutsedge, can I do a spraying of imox to take it out and still be able to plant rye , clover , turnips and radishes come september, or just wait and do a heavy dose of gly come 3rd week of August and nuke it and everything else.

Do u have compaction or drainage problems?

Some drainage, stays moist, but not any standing water, usually dries up in the summer, but with the rain we've had , it hasn't this year.

Labels says 4 months for rye and 18 months for turnips.

You can plant Rye month 2 after Imox.

The labels are government mandated for farmers and human consumption crops and don’t always translate to food plots.

Imox had no effect on my yellow nutsedge.

I have Basagran on the way which I've been told will do the trick, although it will more than likely require two applications 10-14 days apart. I emailed BASF and I was told no residual concerns with Basagran.

If you read the Raptor (brand name Imox) label, it talks about mixing Basagran with it for nutsedge.

I thought about throwing in some Imox but the residual would not allow me to re seed my plots this fall, however I may add some cleth to the mix to get a better kill on the grasses. I have added cleth to imox in the past as suggested by members on the forum so doing the same with basagran sounds like a good idea. Please let me know if anyone disagrees.

My experience with spot spraying a hot mix of gly along with AMS will not totally kill sedge. It always comes back in my plots. I have read that sedge specific herbicides will. I have never used Basagran or any other sedge specific herbicides but I will give it a shot in about 4 weeks to see for myself.

My experience with mowing smart weed is it just throws seed lower than it was cut. Thus the name..

Yea, mowing does nothing but make it grow lower to the ground.

Straight from the manufacturer, no residual with Basagran.

Keystone told me 2-3 months with Imox although some here have suggested 1-2 months.

More like 1-2 months, depending on how rainy it is.

We have had hot, humid rainy weather. My previous Imox experiences were not monitored as closely as this one.....but things are taking their sweet arse time being a 3 weeks since application with some cleth and surfactant.
