That second photo is of the Medici families second palace residence they had constructed and had an elevated covered walking path constructed between the old palace and new so they didn’t have to rub elbows with the common man to pass between the two palaces.

I've been in Sardinia for a week eating cured meats and drinking Italian wine. Even the stuff they consider average is dynamite compared to what I'm used to. Enjoy your lunch, it should be great.

Arrived in Rome today did a catacomb tour and St Paul’s Basilica even managed to walk though one of the four holy doors idk I’m not Catholic but all sorts of pilgrims where in town something special going on with the Catholics.

Vatican also made it though another holy door today and we got tickets to something the new Pope is doing Wednesday idk if we will attend that or not we are not Catholic so no religious reason for us to go just the first American Pope
