Hard to see anything in this grown up place

Big body!

Nice pic. You should try a video.

Nh-did u have any areas u would consider a sanctuary?
It seems to me u use your property a lot, and still have plenty of daytime buck activity. I'd guess that bachelor group is bedding real close since they are still on their feet at 0800.

Dipper, I set aside a large area of my place as sanctuary. In the early spring I have to enter some of those places to do maintenance, but then stay out the rest of the year. I do use my property a lot, but limit my movements to just a few specific areas near plots with cameras.

Several days ago I mowed some shooting lanes for the fall and also mowed my red clover. For about 9 days it seemed to turn everything off. Then suddenly they were active again. At the location in the pic above, I had over 600 pictures per day over the last 4 days, and lots of them were in daylight.

Tomorrow I'm putting in fall plots, and I suspect that it will shut them down again for a few days. That's why I'm doing it early, so that they have plenty of time to settle down.

I love having all these nice young deer, but I'm looking for something bigger. Hopefully with all the does I have we can see some bigger ones soon. Best I can tell there are about 11 different 2 and 3 year olds bedding around my old pond sanctuary right now.

Here were a couple out after 10:00 AM this week:

Nice diversity and mix of plant heights. Never knew bucks to like hanging out in a " parking lot " !!! Even in your non-deer pix - the ones of just your land - in other posts, your place looks " deer-y ". You have lots of " edges " there. Nice.

Thanks Bowsnbucks. My focus is on fall cover more than anything else. The reason for that is because that's what a 2 or 3 mile radius around me lacks the most. The edges you mentioned are also something I'm working on to increase and improve. If I could get half of these 3 year old through to next year, it could be interesting.
