Grandson #4 First Turkey

H20fwler

5 year old buck +
My youngest sons fiancé’s eight year old son that we have known since he was three, shot his first turkey early this morning on an out of state hunt!

He is technically grandson #4 in the line up even though he is the oldest.

Shot it at ten yards.

Nice bird! Congrats to the young man.

Congrats guys! Great picture. He use a 410 or 20? Today was youth opener in IL. Went out with my 11 year old who is after his 1st turkey. He's wanted to stay real patient getting ready for this. His older brother Chris was an early bloomer and Henry is later. But we've been learning he's an absolute deadeye with anything that's been placed in his hand. When he gets a chance he won't miss. Hoping to stir something up early tomorrow before the storms roll in. Good job grandpa!

He used a little single shot 410.

I live 75 miles from louisiana - and we are still just over three weeks out on our season opening. Our G&F got gut hooked deep on Dr Chamberlain’s unproven theory of late season openings improving nesting success. We made that move about 14 years ago - and have had some of the lowest poult recruitment numbers in the history of our state’s poult survey. Dr Craig Harper does have research data dis-proving Chamberlains theory
