GardePro R3 Pro and WIFI HUb

JLemon

5 year old buck +
Is anyone using the new WIFI hub? They state the R3 Pro camera will connect to it up to 3000 feet away. If this is real world numbers it would be perfect for me.

Thinking about picking one up. I have a 3 acre clearcut behind my house that I am thinking about setting up a bait station for coyotes. I get terrible cell service, so this might work. Haven't pulled the trigger yet though.

I ended up buying a hub and one R3 Pro from Gardepro. When I noticed they ship from mainland China I bought a hub and the T6 LRW from Trailcampro and got it in 2 days. Same hub and minor camera differences. The longest I could test on my property is 1000 feet and it connects with 2-3 bars of signal (out of 5) through thick cover and dome hills. Pictures come within 5 seconds. I only have about 8 acres and this system is perfect for me. I’ll be buying 4-5 more cameras and still have the system I bought from Gardepro coming.

Wow...that's great to hear. I just got back from the farthest corner of my clear cut and I get absolutely no cellular service. So this is looking like my only option. About to pull the trigger now.

Where does the Hub mount? Does that need to go in the house next to the router someplace?

Thanks for the update.

You can leave it in the house but I figured I’d get a better signal if I mounted it outside. They say the hub is weatherproof and it comes with a mount. I didn’t want to risk it so I drilled 2 holes in a plastic ammo can. One for the antenna and one for the Ethernet cable and siliconed them closed. A cable goes to the POE adapter and from there to your router. Trailcampro has a YouTube video on the setup and pairing.

Great. Thanks again.

This may be the Cuddeback killer. If you connected the hub to a cellular router, you could get all the pics you want for one cell plan.

I'm pretty impressed with it so far and having around 8 acres it's perfect for me. It's probably not going to work for those hunting hundreds of acres. I imagine the 3000 foot range is under perfect conditions when all the stars align. I do like the instant pictures, if I want to see if anything is in a food plot I might spook I just request a picture and within seconds I have it.

Gardepro seem to have some of the best images. If you setup an outdoor, solar cellular router, you could put the hub anywhere. That would be one cellular plan for however many cameras you could connect to it. Then, if you had more acreage, just put another hub with cellular router 6000 feet ir so from the other one, and link more cameras to that one. That's 2 cell plans for a mile of service.

And then we’d know everytime they peed and pooped and cleaned their wee wees.

I need it more for knowing if someone is hunting on me. I found this mashed down area by my corn field. It looks like someone had a blind setup.

I was kidding
I thought the same thing. Running one at every access point. I don’t know anything about solar wireless routers though so I’d have to dig into that.
I actually have fiber at my farm but right now I can’t justify the monthly expense for as little as I’d need it

hmmm...if you, or one of you pull this off and it works, update please, as I'm interested in live views.
I just purchased a cell cam that that advertised live views, has a camera/sensor on a gimble, that I can adjust left/right/up/down from my phone.
Also comes with a solar panel.
Just put it out this last weekend, and it works pretty damn good. The ir lighting is way more powerful than any other cam I've ever used, and the motion detection is way more distance than I've ever seen. Also has a spotlight and mic, so has audio to and from. I scared a sounder of pigs away by turning on the spotlight and growling in the mic. As long as the damn cell service has more than 1 bar, which mine floats around 1-3 bars, it works pretty damn slick.
It was only $40, and the cell plan cost $17/month monthly, cheaper of course if you get a longer plan. It will save to the cloud, and also save to an sd card. I'll update more as I use it, see how good it does.
