Foxtail Millet

UPDATE: The crop is Foxtail Millet. Does anyone have experience with deer eating this??

Hello, I have seen that guys plant food plots and use Sudan Grass as a screen. Well this year I believe the farmer planted this in several fields surrounding our property. I am not 100% it is but right now it is at least 4 feet tall so I am guessing it is this crop. Do deer actually eat this or use it for bedding or simply avoid it all together?

Depending on where you are that sounds about right. Looks like skinny corn when it’s young. When Imised it to screen my stand access they would bed in it.
Deer are not supposed to eat it but I have seen some limited browse. I watched a little buck bend mine over and eat seeds. But it wasn’t something every deer craved.

There are several types of millet. I plant Japanese, Golden, Browntop, Proso, and Chiwappa (when available). My deer and hogs rarely mess with it
