Well the first trip after the generator repair led to a bit of a pucker moment.
I took over driving and my son was down in the galley. We were 50 miles from shore. He poked his head up and said the generator must have stalled there is nothing on the volt gauge. I opened the hatch and it was on fire.
GOD must have been with us because it was just starting with small flames. Grabbed the fire extinguisher from under the seat and put it out as my son hit the kill switch. It must not have been too hot because the engine room has an automatic fire boy that hadn’t gone off.
After we accessed the situation we decided it was safe to not use the generator and spend a few hours fishing. The overnighter got cancelled but we fished for a few hours.
I’m not pulling the boat. Going to finish the summer with no AC and no 120 service. Can’t do over nights but hopefully we get some fishing in. I’ll figure out the elephant down below over the winter.
Here is what a gazzilion dollars of Mahi looks like.

Wife says it hasn’t sunk in yet because I’m ready to go fishing again. She’s wrong. I’m ready to go fishing again…
