Yes! I have it on a tree in my yard and put it on a standard rootstock this spring. I'm anxiously waiting on new growth.
I've got all the ones you sent us grafted and in the nursery too.
I was worried if they'd be here when Chuck and I got back from Little Rock today. While we were there I got a notice for a Tornado warning back home. It's all good though my wife said it got pretty rough for a bit.

We've been getting the rain and storms the last two weeks. I grafted 10 pears that are in potting mix in my garage till it dries up enough to get them planted out.

Glad to hear your OK. I think a tornado would be one of the most scariest things to go through. Lucky for me their rare in Pa.

I have 6 new tull trees growing and 1 new Arkansas Beauty with several backups grafted on my yard tree. Also have senator /oliver added this year. Here's a few nursery pics of them.
I feel very fortunate I didn't lose any to last week's storms. It got pretty rough there for a bit.

The other scions you send (Dayton, Monark, Arkcharm, and Reasor Green) are all growing too.

They're looking awesome too! Thank you for adding a few Tull trees. Having it in as many different areas as I can is the best way to keep it from slipping into extinction.

Sorry to burst the bubble but Merle was generous enough to send me some Tull scion so I've got one growing on my back porch grafted onto a crab apple root that I grew from seed (and some potted willow cuttings in the background)
Make that 3 in PA, let's start a revolution!

Yeah it's growing great. I've definitely been babying it and giving it lots of attenion. It'll be awhile until it bears since I put it on a seedling rootstock but that's OK. I will transplant it either this fall or in the spring to its final destination. Thanks again for the scion! I hope to have some to share in a year or two for anyone else who wants some.

(Btw, this, to me, is the original "Tull"......my black lab Tully who we call "big Tull".....)

Here's a today pic of Ark Beauty and one of the Tull trees. I also threw in a pic of a new pear tree.
Mr Wilson sent me scions from a 100 plus year old pear from Malvern. The old tree is on its last leg, but he said it had wonderful pears every year.
Hopefully I'll get it another 100 years down the road.

Good job on saving the old-timers, Merle !! It's good to keep a big variety of apples and pears for future generations. All you guys might be the saving grace for some of those " almost gone & forgotten " varieties. Nice work Merle, Grey, BV, and NE PA QDM !!!

Yeah it's definitely a cool community and such an amazing resource

I can't help but wonder how long it would have taken me to learn what I know if I had learned it on my own without sources of info like this place

Cool to think that the Arkansas beauty was rediscovered nearly a 100 years later in Washington and it's now growing in Arkansas again!
