farro, or quinoa ?

mikmaze

5 year old buck +
so, I saw a few fat deer last year, and need to switch their diet to a bit of a healthier mix......

just kidding, but interested in sourcing farro or quinoa seed. I could grow it as a food plot, and have a harvest able crop, that could fetch some nice money with the locally grown food that seems the rage of late. Looked and looked, can not find a source?

any ideas? I don't have a tremendous amount of land, but these grains are in demand, if I'm growing a plot, it might as well be something that can earn its own keep.

no one???

I think I've seen it in the grocery store. That's about all I know about them sorry.

thanks, I will reach out to them, I have bought from them before, didn't notice they had it.

the quinoa they sell is for consumption, not for growing......... next idea?

From what I've seen you can buy the store seed for consumption and plant it. It might be worth a shot to experiment with it. I doesn't like temps above 90 though.

Farro is a collection of these three wheat varieties and in a culinary sense refers to how they are cooked. Einkorn, spelt and emmer wheat are what you are looking for.
