Fall Plot Help

I believe brassica includes the entire mustard family including daikon radish.

Radishes are in the Brassicaceae plant family, but in the Raphanus genus rather than the Brassica genus.

Either way........... Throw 5lbs in the grain mix. Great attraction.

They seem to hit our radishes before they hit the turnips - FWIW. Local taste preference ??

Here, radish forage is hit begin when it first appears. Next is turnip forage but that is after a hard frost. Next is radish tubers, and finally PTT tubers. All bets are off on a mast crop failure year when everything is hit early.

This ^^^ is accurate to my experience in the north as well, but if you throw in some of the hybrid forage brassicas that come in the fancy BOB mixes like A-K Honey Hole or FF Big-n-Beasty, those will get hit early, similar to the radish greens. The majority of tuber use is after things freeze and under the snow for us.
