Fall planted spring wheat?

Anyone ever done it? Is the attraction the same as winter wheat if they hit the same point by the end of the growing season?

Do you mean planting in the spring instead of fall?I have thought about it but after planting Real World oats this fall I think I may plant them in spring and then do a burn down before planting beans.

No, I'm talking wheat that ag producers plant in spring and harvest in summer, as opposed to winter wheat planted in the fall and harvested next summer.

Those winter cereals don't put on the fall tonnage like annuals. I'm wondering if anyone has planted spring wheat in late summer or early fall for a fall-only plot.

i have not ,but probably could plant many spring annuals as our first frost is usually not un til~nov 17

We plant all our wheat in sept-Oct then I burn down in spring after turkey season.Catscratch on here plants awnless wheat and I believe he leaves it till it heads out.
