5 year old buck +
So 3 years ago I grafted some b118 rootstock with 5 varieties of scion wood. First winter I had them in town at my parents', and some deer got to them where there's typically never deer. Needless to say, only 4 scions had a bud remaining while the rest were nibbled past the scion. Fast forward 2 years and now they are getting pretty thick and tall. I don't know how to graft them now that the rootstock has grown into a tree? Initially I was going to just let the rootstock go, but thinking about it, I've got some scion wood from the honeycrisp and Wolf river trees that didn't die. Could I create a Frankentree and have a few scions replace the branches that are currently growing?
