Early fruiting verities.

I planted two each of Hewes, Kerr and Chestnut Crab apples earlier this spring all where bareroot trees they are all blooming. I won’t let them set fruit but I hope it’s an indication of their productivity also one of this springs Dolgo also has blooms.

My Kerr and Chestnut took a few years but my Dolgo had apples from year 2 on.

I had a dolgo bloom like crazy the year I planted it, deer got into cage year two and knocked it back, and last year it made a few apples. It’s tiny, so I’m going to pick off all blooms this year so it’ll put on some wood.
