DIY hay bale blind

I decided this summer I was going to attempt to make a hay bale blind. I made a 6' by 6' wooden frame that was 7 feet tall and used wire gauge to shape it. Next I put a tarp over it to waterproof it and finally used a hay blanket that I rolled onto it. It took me a couple weekends to build and cost my about 150 bucks to build, but I feel it turned out great. Can't wait to get some sits in come hunting season. (PS that is the door opened on the right side. Forgot to shut it for the photo.)

I got the rolls from tractor supply but I'm sure you could get them about anywhere.

Do they call that blanket "Jute" I used some for planting grass in front of my house. I seem to remember the supply house calling it that.

Not sure what it was called but it's suppose to be placed over grass so that would make sense.

I imagine the structure would still be ok, just a replacement of the hay and tarp may be necessary...

Jute is an all natural product used in erosion control blankets. It may or may not be jute. Jute is "earth-friendly".

Another option is burlap thats what my store made is.I would blacken the windows,it was weird how they seemed to notice it if my windows were open so I started turning black side out.Looks great
