Habitat work is so healthy for the mind when you turn off all the external BS ... time to stock the wood pile ... gotta keep enjoying that wood stove fireplace :emoji_wink:

Yep, I have been doing my part for social distancing as well.....removing brush from CRP areas, pruning and doing some burning.... A little hands on labor is good for the mind sometimes....maybe not so good for my aging back however. Your picture reminds me of an ash tree I need to buzz up at some point in time as well.....add that to the list!

Looks great Tree Spud. I social distanced by more than 6' yesterday also. Pruned my upper orchard in the afternoon. Nice, sunny day. Ticks came out early this year, so I was all sprayed down with permethrin. To you apple guys out there, the branches on the 1st tree pictured I have tied down to a 45 degree angle. I know that's not perfect, but is it good enough? That lower limb to the left I probably should've removed. Seemed like such a nice large limb, but then looking at the pic later it just doesn't look right. It'll probably cause problems in the future. I'll most likely take it off next year. Didn't take an extension saw with me to remove the double leader. 2nd pic is a pear, maybe 16' tall but never any fruit yet. Are you guys comfortable with those limb angles? I know most guys say don't bother with the pears upright tendencies. Should I come back with the power pole saw and take out that bad Y crotch a few feet above the top of the cage?
